Mrs. Thurman’s Newsletter
October 2, 2009
Next Week:
Reading – Using details to support comprehension of stories we are reading. At reading stations we are looking at matter, reading books about matter, and writing about matter!
Writing – Last week we finished a narrative. This week we will take that narrative and apply some fun revisions to make it more interesting.
Math – This week we will create bar graphs, picture graphs and circle graphs.
Science – Measuring and identifying matter will be our focus for the next few weeks.
Spelling Words for test on Friday:
Homework: The grammar homework is very important. Please make sure your student has gone over the information and completed the homework BEFORE Friday. Some of them are completing it at school on Friday morning and do not know the information for the grammar quiz.
Star of the Week: Student of the week this week was Sydney! It makes me happy to hear that she wants to be a teacher when she grows up! She’ll make a great teacher someday. She also loves TV and her family.
