Next Week:

Reading – We will be working on character traits. Students will compare physical traits and character traits of characters from books.

Writing – Next week we will write a story about autumn. We are going to model our stories after a book called I Know It’s Autumn by Eileen Spinelli.

Math – This week we will work on multiplication and division problems.

Social Studies – Our focus will be on economics. Students will learn about wants, needs, opportunity cost, and taxes.

Spelling Words for test on Friday: gear, spear, sharp, stare, alarm, cheer, square, hairy, starve, charm, beard, scarf, spare, stairs, year, charge, dairy, heart, weird, scare

This and That
• Next week is parent teacher conferences! Thank you for signing up so promptly. I sent a reminder card home this week with your time listed. Please let me know if you are unsure of your time slot. If you must change or cancel please contact me as soon as possible. Mrs. Prater in the office can take calls also.
• Book fair is next week! We previewed the selections today. If you would like your child to purchase a book please send the money with them in an envelope.
• NO SCHOOL on October 23 or October 26.
• There is a note coming home today about the Trunk or Treat our PTA is sponsoring on October 29th.
• Our Fall Festival party is on October 30th. If you signed up I will be contacting you.
