What a great week!
Next Week:
Reading – Next week we will be working on connections: text to text, text to world, and text to self.
Writing – Next week we will begin story writing.
Math – We will be working on data and probability. Even though we are moving on from multiplication for the time being PLEASE make sure your child is still working with flash cards at home. The assessment we took this week will come home today. As you will see there are still facts they are struggling to learn. I will be putting some computer games on the blog this weekend, maybe that will be incentive!
Social Studies – Missouri is a big part of fourth grade! Next week we will work on learning the regions of Missouri and study maps of Missouri.
Homework: Please watch for highlighted notes in the assignment book next week. Our math is fluctuating quite a bit right now so I am not sure of the exact days we will have homework. I will stress to the students it must be highlighted!

Spelling City Problems
Today the kids told me that Spelling City doesn't link right to my name so here is a new set of directions to try! Please leave me a comment to let me know if it works.
1. Click on the Spelling City box on the side of this page.
2. If my name does not appear on the page click on the tab that says Find a List.
3. Then click on the search by teacher section and type in Anna Thurman.
4. My name should come up and click on it to see the spelling units!
Sorry for the confusion, hope this helps!

First Week Down!

This has been a great week. The students are great and really learning a lot. This week we had fun getting to know each other. We played a silly game called Black Socks. You sing it as you walk in a circle...it's a little like musical chairs with a twist. We laughed really hard and had fun. Here are a few pictures from that day!
