Next Week:
Reading – This week we investigated text features of non-fiction. Next week we will use that new knowledge to answer questions about non fiction stories.
Writing – We will complete our stories that we started last week about a person who takes a trip down the river and encounters animals. We are going to use Daisy Comes Home by Jan Brett as a model for our writing.
Math – Next week we will work on using variables in number expressions and how to use function tables. (I know that sounds hard but the students usually do pretty well!)
Science – We will continue with electricity. The test over electricity will be the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break. The study guide will come home at the end of next week.
This and That
• Tuesday, November 17th is the fourth grade music program. They have been working really hard and sound great! They need to be here by 6:50 p.m.
• Thanksgiving break will be Wednesday, November 25th – Friday, November 27th.
• Spelling words are in the students green folder. They can bring that folder home every day. I do ask they keep it in their backpack because we do use it at school. If you cannot find your spelling words at home you can always look on Spelling City. That link is on our blog at http://ozarktigertalk.blogspot.com
Ashton Rolf was our student of the week! It was fun to see her pictures and hear about her love of gymnastics!
As always, I welcome communication from parents! Please let me know what is working and what is not! I will be starting a math group in the mornings soon. If you think your child would benefit from extra math work please send me a note or email. I’ll let you know when that will begin.
